Spellorama

Click here to enter the microsite.

Made as an offshoot of the Arts Council of Wales supported project “Tell Me Something I Don’t Know” at Cardiff and Vale College, this spelling game utilises students’ artwork. As a piece of educational software, it is based on established andragogical theories, but in a gallery context it becomes an artwork that produces a measurable change in the viewer.

How to play:

  1. Click “Spellorama” to start.
  2. Click as many words as you would like to learn, maybe five or ten
  3. You will see the words disappear as you click them.
  4. Click the “play” button in the bottom right corner.
  5. You can listen to each word as many times as you like without affecting your score.
  6. When you are ready, type the word in the white box.
  7. Getting a clue, getting an answer wrong and skipping words each take one point off your score.
  8. When you get to the final screen you can enter your name and print a certificate.
