Nth Art

Nth Art was a short lived, but ambitious London artists collective, made up of people who met while working at Tate Modern.

Nth Architecture (2004) was our second project, and featured three of our members: Chris Knight, Lorin Davies and Lee Campbell.  A Peckham architecture practice and gallery invited us to host a workshop and to create a small piece for their 1m x 1m gallery. Individually, the three artists made a small beach hut out of material of their own choosing (Davies: distressed wood, Knight: flatly-painted card, and Campbell:  clear household objects), met up, disassembled their huts and reassembled them into a single structure. The workshop invited visitors to alter simplified versions of the plans for the building.

Exhibit.001 (2003) was our first project. We invited all our friends to exhibit with us, and asked them to invite their friends, and their friends to invite theirs, and so on. We ended up with well over three hundred pieces, sent to us from as far away as Australia, and installed the work in the tiny Ols&Co temporary space.
